Sifton Properties Limited is committed to the protection of our customers' and residents' personal information in the course of providing our quality goods and services. As part of this commitment to respect and safeguard personal information, Sifton Properties Limited (“Sifton”) has developed its privacy policies and procedures based on the following ten principles, in accordance with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (“PIPEDA”).
Sifton is responsible for personal information under its control, and has designated a Privacy Officer to oversee compliance to the Corporate privacy policies and procedures.
The purposes for which personal information is being collected shall be identified before or at the time the personal information is collected. Depending on the sensitivity of the information, the purpose may be stated orally or in writing.
The individual's consent will be obtained for the collection, use or disclosure of his or her personal information, except where not required or as permitted by law.
The personal information collected shall be limited to that which is necessary for the purposes identified by Sifton, or as otherwise permitted by law.
Sifton will not use or disclose personal information for purposes other than the identified purposes for which it was collected, except with the consent of the individual or as required or permitted by law. Sifton Properties Limited will retain personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfill the identified purpose.
The personal information kept shall be as accurate, complete and up-to-date as is necessary for the purposes for which it is to be used. Sifton relies upon its customers to notify it of any changes or corrections to their personal information through the access provisions of this privacy policy, as outlined under principle 9.
Personal information shall be protected using organizational, physical and technological safeguards that are appropriate for the sensitivity level of the information.
Information will be available to individuals about our policies and procedures relating to the management of personal information under the company's control.
On written request to our Privacy Officer, an individual will be informed of the existence, use and disclosure of their personal information that is under the company's control, and may be given access to that personal information as required and permitted by law. Individuals are entitled to challenge the accuracy and completeness of their personal information and request that it be amended, which Sifton shall amend once confirming the accuracy of the new information, and where such amendment is appropriate in the circumstances.

This privacy policy is in effect as of December 31, 2003. Sifton will from time to time review and revise its privacy practices and this policy statement. Any amendments to the Sifton privacy policy will be effective from the date that it is posted on the Sifton web site at: www.sifton.com.
